All teams participating in the Tournament must abide by the Fair Play Code:
- Play for the fun of it, work for the good of your team.
- Be generous when you win; be graceful when you lose.
- Always be fair, no matter what the cost.
- Obey the Laws of the Game.
- Control your temper!
- Accept decisions made by the Referees with good grace.
- Believe in the honesty of your opponents.
- Treat others as you yourself would like to be treated.
- Conduct yourself with honour and dignity.

Tournament Rules:
U11 and U12 games will be played using "Super 8" rules. U11 & U12 teams will play 8 players per side for two thirty minute halves (2x30), with a 5 minute half-time break. Unlimited substitutions are allowed on stoppages of play only, and with the permission of the referee.
Games for U13 to U18 will consist of two thirty-five minute halves (2x35), with a 5 minute half-time break. Teams must field a minimum of eight (8) players for a game to commence. Unlimited substitutions are allowed on stoppages of play only, and with the permission of the referee.
For games played at Burnaby Lake West: only team personnel within the fenced area. For all turf surfaces, water only on the turf, and the following are not allowed on the turf: pets, gum, or cleats with metal spikes.
Only players whose names appear on the Tournament Registration form are eligible to play. All players must be registered with the Club they are representing. A team may have a maximum of 20 players for U18 teams, 18 players for U13-U17 teams and 15 players for U11 & U12 teams. Players may play for only one team during the Tournament. All teams must be affiliated with a Club within their District for the 2008 . 2009 season. Players chosen to play at the Select level by their District or Club are not permitted to play in the Tournament. Players chosen by their Club to play at the Gold level are not permitted to play for a Silver team in the Tournament. Team lists must be supplied to the referee at the beginning of each game.
The Referee is in charge of the game. The Referee.s decisions are final and their authority must not be challenged.
No game shall be protested on a Referee.s decision or call.
A player receiving a red card is automatically suspended from play for the remainder of the Tournament.
A player receiving two yellow cards in one game is automatically suspended from play for the teams. next full game.
The Tournament Discipline Committee will deal with any serious offences by players or team officials. Any cards received may be reported to the team.s District for further discipline.
Round-Robin Games:
Teams will be placed in 5 team pods. All age groups play 4 round-robin games.
The top 2 teams in each pod will be awarded medals.
All round-robin games will run on fixed (65 minutes for U11 & U12, and 75 minutes for U13 to U18).
Any protests must be delivered in writing to Tournament Headquarters within 60 minutes of the end of the game.
Points will be awarded as follows:
- 6 points for a win
- 3 points for a tie
- 1 point for a shutout win
- 1 point for each goal scored to a maximum of 3 pts.
If teams are tied on points within their group at the end of the regular round-robin play, ties will be broken using the following method:
- Previous head to head result in round-robin play
- then most wins
- then least goals allowed
In a rare situation of teams still being tied, a coin toss will be used to break the tie.
Wesburn YSC reserves the right to amend (in print) our rules up to the commencement of the tournament.
